Are DailyTools apps available on both Mac and Windows?▼
Yes. Both DupExplorer and MonyExplorer are native apps for macOS and Windows. One license covers both platforms — if you switch machines or use both, your purchase applies to either.
Does the app require an internet connection to work?▼
No. Both apps are fully offline. The only internet requirement is the initial license activation when you purchase. After that, everything runs locally — no network calls, no sync, no cloud dependency.
How many devices can I install the app on?▼
A single license allows installation on up to 2 devices (e.g., your laptop and desktop). If you need more, please get in touch and we can work something out.
Will I get updates after purchasing?▼
Yes — all updates within the current major version are free. The app checks for updates automatically and notifies you when one is available. You choose when to install.
DupExplorer
Is it safe? Will it delete the wrong files?▼
DupExplorer never deletes anything without your review. After scanning, it shows every duplicate group and lets you confirm exactly what to remove. The Smart Bulk Delete also shows a preview before acting. Deleted files go to your system Trash by default — not permanently removed until you empty Trash.
What file types does DupExplorer support?▼
30+ formats including audio (MP3, FLAC, AAC, OGG, WAV, M4A), video (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WMV), and images (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, BMP, GIF, RAW). Detection is content-based — not filename-based — so renamed duplicates are always caught.
Can it scan external hard drives and NAS?▼
Yes. You can add as many folders as you like to a scan session — including external drives, USB drives, and network-mounted volumes. All folders are scanned in parallel for speed.
How does the content-based detection actually work?▼
Files are compared using a cryptographic hash of their full byte content. Two files that produce the same hash are byte-for-byte identical, regardless of filename, location, or metadata. This means renamed, moved, or re-tagged duplicates are always detected accurately.
MonyExplorer
Does MonyExplorer connect to my bank?▼
No. MonyExplorer is entirely manual and local. You enter transactions yourself, or import them via CSV (which most banks allow you to export). There is no bank connection, no Plaid, no credentials stored anywhere.
Can I import transactions from my bank?▼
Yes. MonyExplorer supports CSV import from most banks and financial institutions. Download your statement as CSV from your bank's website, then import it directly. The app will map columns and attempt to auto-categorise transactions.
Where is my data stored?▼
All data is stored in an encrypted local database on your machine. Nothing is sent to any server. The database path is shown in Settings so you can back it up however you prefer.
What currencies are supported?▼
23 currencies including USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, CAD, INR, JPY, CNY, CHF, SGD, NZD, HKD, NOK, SEK, DKK, MXN, BRL, ZAR, AED, SAR, KRW, THB, and IDR. Exchange rates are entered manually to keep everything offline.
